BioStori was founded at the intersection of clinical research and digital storytelling. After years working directly with patients in oncology clinical trials as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Emily Boornazian saw firsthand the communication barriers that often impact clinical trial participation — from fear and misunderstanding to a lack of trust in unfamiliar research opportunities. Later, while managing patient recruitment initiatives and strategic accounts within the clinical research industry, she gained broader insight into the operational challenges sponsors and sites face in recruitment and retention.
At the same time, through her work in digital media and content strategy with Media Active Inc. — a family-owned production company with over 30 years of storytelling experience — she saw how authentic, human-centered communication consistently builds trust, engagement, and action across digital platforms.
BioStori was created to explore how those same storytelling and engagement principles can be thoughtfully adapted to clinical research through scalable, patient-centered digital communication.
